Crew Management

The most time consuming task of recruiting - screening, interviewing, selecting, medical and hiring is taken care by AMOS SHIP MANAGEMENT PVT. LTD. It gives additional time to our clients for other areas of management that contributes to the company's financial success.

RECRUITMENT, SCREENING AND SELECTION

We take additional care to employ the seafarers with similar kind of vessel experience to match the requirement from our Principals. This system is beneficial to them, as the crew is familiar with the vessel's routines and procedures. It is followed due to the crucial fact that the human error is the common cause of accidents onboard. We take extreme care of seafarer's certification and experience with cross referenced from previous employers, government departments and certification authorities, before his name is added to our databank.

PRE - EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS

All the seafarers must undergo a medical examination from the medical centers approved by the Director General Shipping as per M.S. rules of ILO/ Panama/ Liberian/ Vanuatu/ Malaysian flag guidelines. We ensure the medical clearances before the seafarer joins the vessel. Thorough examination includes chest X-ray, blood count / group, urine analysis, stool examination, dental check up, psychometric examination, vision test, and also special tests ( if required ) like HIV, Hepatitis ( B & C ),Gamma G.T, Drug and Alcohol, E.C.G, and Stress test. Special vaccinations are given for the vessels trading in the specific areas.

DOCUMENTS, TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION

We follow the procedures laid down by shipping industry to avoid the risk of improper crew documentation, causing the vessel's delay at the ports. We ensure that:

  • Minimum validity of the seafarer's certificates and documents as per the contract term.
  • Training and certification conforming IMO, ILO and STCW' 95 convention and ISM code.
  • Seafarer must have appropriate training and certification for the position he is employed on the vessel.
  • Seafarers are briefed on the company's policies and vessel specific procedures.

CREW TRAVEL

We are associated with IATA approved travel agents with expertise in crew's economic routing to and from the ships. Pre- paid Ticket Advice (PTA) may also be issued at principal's option.

ALLOTMENTS

Principals may remit the amount as per the seafarer's instruction for dispersal of allotments to designated beneficiaries through our appointed banks or directly. Receipts are sent to the principals confirming the payments and distribution.

PERFORMANCE MONITORING

We believes in regular monitoring of crew's performance through the reports from the master of the vessel, and de- briefing sessions of fellow crew members from the same vessel. This enables us in assessing the seafarer's report on competence and behavior before considering his re- employment.
